Types of Events Available:
Explanation of each type of event.
- PRIMARY INTENSIVE. A five-day structured residential workshop experience, patterned after the first weeks of inpatient treatment for food dependency. The intensive is designed to support and promote food abstinence and 12-step work through a process of groups, educational lectures, structured activities and individual reading/writing assignments. Recommended for those new to abstinence and food addiction recovery, for those in relapse, and for those who want to deepen their recovery. Attendance at all days is required. Fee: $1,950 (includes meals and materials) for first time intensive participants, $1,700 thereafter.
- WORKSHOP (PROCESS GROUPS) Non-residential, day-long process groups which support physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual recovery from food addiction. Fee: $650 for 5-day program, or $140 a day (two day minimum). Fees may vary for Special Events
- RELAPSE PREVENTION WORKSHOP. Triggers and Relapse Warning Signs (Workshop A) Relapse doesn"t happen when we pick up the food. There is a relapse process that starts long before. This workshop focuses on identifying the triggers and warning signs before relapse and developing practical action plans. Attendance at all days is required. Fee: $475 (meals and lodging not included)
- RELAPSE PREVENTION WORKSHOP: Irrational Thoughts and Spiritual Blocks (Workshop B) Relapse is not just physical. Mental and spiritual relapse always precedes picking up the food. This workshop focuses on identifying irrational thoughts and spiritual blocks in the relapse process and creating a practical relapse prevention plan to deal with these problems. Attendance at all days is required. Fee: $475 (meals and lodging not included)
- INDIVIDUAL COACHING -- (In person or by telephone) $120* per hour; $500* for five sessions if paid in advance; $400* for five sessions if currently active in the Living In Abstinence program. .
ACORN Financial Policy as of 1/2008:
- 1. Primary Intensives: Register one month in advance with full payment and receive a $100 discount. A $500 deposit will reserve your space; full payment is due 14 days in advance. Deposits are non-refundable.
- 2. Workshops and Retreats: Full payment is to be made upon registration and is due 14 days in advance. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- 3. Living In Abstinence Program: As of December 31, 2007, the LIA program is discontinued. We will honor active agreements until their end date and no renewals will be issued.
- 4. ACORN does not guarantee specific results, and no refunds or transfers are given if a participant does not attend, leaves the program early or completes the program.
- 5. $25 fee for returned checks.

- 7. ACORN reserves the right to change the schedule or cancel any event due to insufficient enrollment.
