Problems with Food?
It's a terrible torment to be stuck in an endless cycle of gaining and losing weight. Starving and bingeing, followed by endless despair. We obsess about eating or not eating, with the same results.
What can you do when you can't stop eating?
Doctors, dieticians and therapists can't always help people like us. Bariatric surgery is too risky, or something in your gut tells you that it's just not going to work. Hundreds of pounds lost, but we gain them back again. Wouldn't it be great to know at last what the problem really is?
We Can Help
We are a group of abstinent and recovering bulimics, anorexics, and food addicts who are committed to helping others with the same problem. ACORN holds Retreats, Primary Intensives, Relapse Prevention, and Workshops in different parts of the United States. Our services are for people in all stages of recovery from chemical dependency on food: just beginning, in relapse, and long term recovery.
Why ACORN?
We understand. Our services are based on the 12-Steps as they appear in such programs as Overeaters Anonymous, Food Addicts Anonymous and CEA-HOW. We are not affiliated with those groups but we believe in the recovery they provide. We offer professionally led structured support, explanations, and the opportunity to clear out the "food fog," without medications or invasive surgery. Read about what we do to help.
